Ronda Kelly
In 1989, while living in Madison, Wisconsin, Ronda Kelly began following her life’s passion of creating beautiful, meaningful jewelry. Ronda recognized from the public’s heartfelt reaction to her early work that she needed to make this passion her path in life. Soon, she was inspired to launch Ronda Kelly Ltd.
Always drawn to decorative shapes, forms and textures, Ronda relies on creative instinct and is driven by a desire to merge ancient culture with modern design. The vintage kimono series is one example of her deep respect for the Japanese culture and her appreciation of the Asian esthetic - an esthetic which flows through her entire collection. In her pendant pieces, she takes motifs from swatches of vintage kimono fabric, capturing the detail, texture and history of that culture.
Also prominent in her work is the use of color and texture. Often referred to as “colorist”, Ronda’s jewelry designs offer color combinations that are both sophisticated and youthful. Uniquely shaped, faceted, or carved precious and semi-precious stones, vintage glass, sterling, Balinese and Turkish silver, pearls and vintage kimono fabric find their way into Ronda Kelly designs. Sapphire, tourmaline, lemon quartz, coral and peridot represent the stunning array of richly colored stones typically found in Ronda’s designs. Ultimately, this materials come together to form exquisite necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
